Michelle “Shelly” E. Paules, CLU, CFP®
Principal
Shelly brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, including five years in the home office of a major insurance company. A fourth generation entrepreneur, she is personally familiar with the unique needs of closely-held and family firms.
Shelly’s particular expertise is providing specialized solutions for the employee benefit and retirement plan needs of employers and their employees. Shelly’s approach is two–pronged: structuring benefit plans to meet the unique needs of business owners as well as protecting the financial well–being of the business’s greatest asset – its employees.
Shelly graduated from Colby College as a Phi Beta Kappa member. She is a Chartered Life Underwriter, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, and is pursuing her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation through the Wharton School.
Shelly is a member of the Maine Employee Benefits Council, Maine Association of Health Underwriters, Society for Human Resource Management, Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the Financial Planning Association.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and 
, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.
Peggy J. Novello
Senior Associate
Peggy comes to Optimus Group Solutions with over 20 years of in–depth management and functional human resource experience.
Peggy operated as a key member of the senior executive team for three companies – two start–up media companies and the other a digital and direct marketing agency which grew from 85 to 1800 people in 10 years. All three companies were headquartered in Boston.
Peggy’s focus was on recruitment and retention, career development, training, benefits administration, compensation planning and organizational design. She developed a number of work/life programs which included wellness components.
Peggy is on the Membership Committee for the Human Resource Association of Southern Maine and she received a Certificate in Worksite Wellness through the Southern Maine Wellness Council.
